Candygrams: Before the Test

Tomorrow is it.  It's like judgement day for teachers.  The day we've been working toward all year, wether you're open to admitting it or not.  Tomorrow is Day 1 of the New York State Assessments for ELA.  My students have worked really hard, and now, they have to show what they know.

It's the first time they'll ever take a state assessment, so I wanted to calm their nerves as much as I can.  I went to FiveBelow today after school, and picked up some 10 cent candy to make some candy grams this week.  The first candy gram the students will get include Airheads Candy.  I tried to stick to peanut-free candy, and something that would cheer them up!

I used the template from Skip to my Lou.  Instead of purchasing full sized candy bars, I bought the fun size.

Then I printed out the template from Skip to My Lou and cut each one out with my Friskars paper trimmer.

Then, I attached the candy with some scotch tape rolls.

I plan on putting one on each child's desk so they can discover them when they walk into the classroom.  Hopefully it will calm some nerves and bring some smiles to their faces!!

Good luck to everyone tomorrow!
