Feeling Blessed

Yesterday was the most amazing birthday I've ever had. I think I've made that very clear. My sister, my mom and best friend made sure that my thirtieth birthday was celebrated in the best way possible, and they succeeded!

The above picture was included for today, because after I woke up this morning at my parents house and played with my niece, I came home. I emptied my car of my luggage (yes, luggage, I had no clue what to pack for my exciting birthday!), my photo collage, and all of my birthday gifts.

After getting settled, I decided that I should open my presents. I began opening each one, reading every word written in every card, and I was completely touched. The first present i opened was from my very close family friend and her husband. She is the woman who inspired me to teach. In a sense, she's a "super woman" in my eyes, someone who I constantly strive to be like professionally. Anyway, the words she wrote touched me more than any present could have...and I began to cry tears of joy! Well....this led into crying at each card and gift! I'm giggling now because if I was in the company of others, I'm sure I would have looked like a nut!

The thing is, those tears were tears of joy and tears of freedom. Tears of success and excitement. I'm thirty and living my life just how I would hope to. My life is incredible and I am so blessed to have such amazing, talented people in my life whom I love so much. I'm so thankful for each and every word and thought that went into making my birthday so special, it was one that I will never forget!
