MOVE! [A Viral Video that Takes You Around the World!]

Although I'm not traveling anywhere special for Spring Break, having time off means doing things that I normally don't get to do within my daily routine... like catching glimpses of some fun TV shows as I work on "to-do projects" around my apartment.

Today, I caught an awesome segment on The Today Show and I just had to share it! The segment featured viral videos, specifically filmmaker Rick Mereki's 1 minute video, Move.  The video takes you around the globe in exactly one minute, featuring a traveler walking in the backdrop of some of the universe’s most iconic locations. What’s really captivating about this series is that the camera only captures the subject walking straight towards the lens or horizontally across the many international backdrops. It’s something to see!

Rick, and his production team of two, traveled on 18 flights for a grand total of 38 thousand miles. They traveled to 11 countries in 44 days. Rick also explained that the reason Move looks so great is because of symmetry. He said that if the compilation featured a ton of different angles and shots, it wouldn't look nearly as aesthetically pleasing.

The Benjamin Franklin Effect

You know I love Soul Pancake.  I've blogged about it before, and I love the new series, The Science of Love.  The filmmakers take ordinary couples, and have them live through an experiment.  This particular one had one partner think about things they really liked about the other one.  Just by doing this activity, the partners were more attracted to one another.

Which brings me to another idea.  Relationships grow and change.  They evolve, and honeymoon phases fade out, you see beyond the aura of love, and begin to know the real person.  BUT that doesn't mean that things need to be different, or that the chemistry needs to die.  Relationships take work.  Are you willing to put the time and effort in to make yours last?

If you said yes, then I have a piece of advice: tell the person you love every so often why you love them.  It could be something as simple as saying you love their cooking, you love their sense of humor, or how they're always there for you.  It may be hard at first, but the more you let them know that you love them, the more valued they are going to feel.  Flowers die, chocolates get eaten...but the words you say will last a lifetime.

I love seeing old elderly couples in love. They're just too cute. I blogged about this once before, right here.

 Elderly couples are heartwarming evidence of how strong and lasting love can be.

These are people who care so much about one another.

These are people who have made it through all the trials and tribulations in their lives and still love each other.

These are the people that speak to the power of love, the power of forever.

As I was searching for cute elderly couples photos, I came across a video from this website, posted nearly a year ago. The video showcases four elderly couples who not only share their love stories, but also dance to their wedding song. Grab a tissue!

At the BEACH!

Since I'm not on vacation anywhere this week, I decided that tonight I would list the top five most favorite beaches I've ever been to.  If you have a better one, please comment below!

1. Flying Point Beach, Southampton, NY

Flying Point is a town-owned beach in Southampton, Long Island.  It's at the South End of Flying Point Road in Watermill.  I went to this beach growing up with my parents, grandparents, and cousins.  I have fond memories of this beach...there are really none other like it.  If you want to go, you need to know someone who has a permit to get in.  

2. Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

This is currently a favorite spot for my family.  With beaches that are so similar to the beaches in Southampton, it brings me back to my childhood.  We love to go to the beaches at the Public Park because it's less crowded.  You can also hit the beach by the boardwalk, which will give you the opportunity to take in the amusements along the beach during the day.  Personally, I'd rather pack a lunch and hang out where it's quiet during the day, and then hit up the boardwalk at night...and grab an ice cream at Kohrs Custard!

3. Trunk Bay, St. John USVI

Yes...the water is THAT blue.

I've been to this beach twice...both while on cruises.  You can head over to this beach on a day trip while visiting St. Thomas.  This beach is well worth the trip. It's gorgeous...breathtaking and relaxing.  I would go back in a second!

4. Orient Beach, St. Martin

Another incredible beach.  It's just BEAUTIFUL!  The only warning....on parts of this beach, they allow nudity (gross).  Just stay towards the end that requires bathing suits and you'll be fine.  It's really an incredible place.  The food on the French side is delicious!

5. Elbow Beach, Bermuda

Saving the best for last.  Bermuda was an incredible trip and it's another place I'd go back to in a second.  Elbow Beach is paradise.  I went to Bermuda on a Norwegian cruise in 2007, prior to the cruise ship docking for three straight days.  We were only in Bermuda for one day, and I was completely heartbroken to leave this beach.  I swore I'd go back some day.

Time is precious, waste it wisely.

Full weekend. Full heart.

This weekend was full. 

Full of things to do. 

Full of family and friends. 

Full of laughter and fun. 

Full of beautiful, sunny 75 degree weather.

 Spring Break started in the best way. 

Our weekend was full of nonstop laughter. 

Wherever we were and whoever we were with, we were laughing. 

Our weekend was all about letting go. 

Hearts are happier and life is more full when we live in the now -- talking, laughing, embracing.

 Time is precious, waste it wisely.

Laughter is the best medicine. 

Laughter is fuel for the heart and soul.

 Belly laughs are the best... aching stomach muscles, struggling to catch our breath. 

My weekend wish for you: 

Seize the moment through joy, laughter, and love. 

Be with those you love.

Laugh harder.

 Linger longer.

 Love deeper than you usually do. 

Spread joy and laughter wherever you go...the kind that's only possible when you're with friends and family.

Uncles

My mom's brothers, my three Uncles are some of my most favorite men on the planet, besides my Dad.  I saw them for dinner tonight at my parents house, and they never seem to fail in making me laugh.  They always have stories to tell, give the best hugs, and always have my best interest at heart.

My three uncles were there for me when things were rough...always asking how I was, and making sure I was doing okay.  There's something about an Uncle...they're part dad, part friend.  When I was growing up, life was chaotic for everyone.  I'm the youngest of 10 grandchildren on my mother's side, so family get togethers were chaotic to say the least!  As I grew up, I've become really close with my uncles.  

Getting together with them is so much fun.  They share funny stories, and talk about the days when they were growing up.  Stories about my grandparents, and their old neighborhoods.  Talking about my mom as a little girl, and their mischief as the three older brothers.  

I'm pretty lucky to have them in my life.  I'm not really sure if they know how much I truly love them, but I couldn't imagine life without them.  I felt that Uncle Jesse and Michelle's relationship could apply to any of my Uncles.  They're all super cool in their own way, and are there to make me laugh when I need it...or not! ;)

With this amazing weather (75 degrees today...seriously?!), I'm eager to buy cute outfits for spring and summer, including adorable skirts, dresses and tops.

Island Kimono

I've been noticing that kimono's are one of the biggest trends right now. I really love this one because of it's colors, but I especially love how it's paired with shorts and a tank top. Super, super cute! 

Heating Up Dress 

I love paisley prints and I really like the cute ruffled layer on the top of this dress. This looks so comfy for a hot summer day!

Fountainview Dress

This reminded me of wedding season. If you're a bride and looking for a cute bridal shower or rehearsal dinner dress, this screams "buy me!" If you're not a bride,  what a cute, white dress to add to your closet. This seems awesome to dress up or down! 

Once Upon a Time Skirt

I LOVE this skirt! It seems like it'd be great for Easter! The pleated bell skirt, along with the texture detailing... so adorable!

Dream On Romper

Rompers also seemed to be a big trend last year. I tried a few on, but I didn't love them. I'm willing to give it another try this spring/summer. This one seemed cute to me. I like the hidden zipper and the little ruffles on the shorts.
