High Five for Friday!

High five for Friday is back now that school is back in session!!!  Here's a recap of my week:

1. Last weekend of the Summer: Labor day weekend was filled with family and stuff at home.  Marc and I finally have been settling into our place and getting organized.  Life is good!

2. The first day of school:  My students are an energetic bunch, and I'm looking forward to getting them working hard...fast!

3.  The kind words that parents have said....builds me up!  I have parents fill out a questionnaire about each child at the beginning of the year.  As I read the questionnaires, I learn a lot about each student.  Their parents open up a whole new world, one that I may never see. They describe home life, struggles and successes, and it makes me understand the whole child that sits in my classroom each day.  More than one parent mentioned that they were thrilled to have their child in my class!

4. Working together with my team!  My colleagues are great teachers, and we are working extremely hard this year on a few different things to get our kids achieving more than ever before!

5. Date night tonight!  I went and got my hair done, and then raced home to have dinner with Marc to close out the first week of school.  It included great conversation, our favorite wine from Portugal and good food.

Life is good!
